I cannot make a call using an extension line.
A Ingeneral,thedialtoneofaPBXoradigital
phone switching system is not a continuous one,
unlike that of a trunk line.
Therefore,themodemmaynotmakeacallbecause
themodemmistakesthedialtonefromaPBXora
digitalphoneswitchingsystemasabusytone.Inthis
case, complete the following procedures.
▶ Using an AT command
Asaninitializationcommand,usethecommand,
ATX3.Otherwise,entertheATX3command
manuallybeforemakingacall.
Itcancorrectthisproblembyskippingthedialtone
check step.
▶ Conguring the Modem through the Control Panel
Click Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet
Connections.
Under See Also, click Phone and Modem Options.
In the Modemstab,selecttheinstalledmodem,and
click Properties.
In the ModemtaboftheModem Properties window,
clearthe“Waitfordialtonebeforedialing”checkbox.
Whenthecongurationiscompleted,clickOK.
