The ON LINE buttonsetstheprinteron-lineandoff-line.Thestatuschanges
eachtime youpressthe button.
Whentheprinterison-line,itcanreceiveandprintdatafromthecomputer.
Whentheprinterisoff-line,itstopsprintingandsendsthecomputerasignal
indicatingthat it cannotacceptdata.
Theprinterpowersupintheon-linestatusifpaperisloaded.Ifpaperisnot
loaded,the printerpowersup off-linewiththe
POWERindicatorflashing.
Whenyouload paper,the
POWERindicatorstopsflashing,butthe printer
remainsoff-line.TostartprintingyoumustpresstheONLINEbuttongoon-
line.
Youwillwantto pressthe ON
LINEbuttonare:
● Beforeand after any otherpaneloperation
The other panel buttonsoperate only in the off-line state. Press the
ON
LINE buttonto gooff-line.Afterperformingthe paneloperation(s),
pressthe ON
LINE buttonagainto go backon-line.
● To pauseduringprinting
If youpresstheON
LINE buttonduringprinting,theprinterstopsprinting
andgoesoff-line,allowingyouto checktheprintoutorchangeacontrol
panelsetting.PrintingresumeswhenyoupresstheON
LINEbuttonagain
to go backon-line.
● To cut,fanfoldformsat the end of printing
Whenusingfanfoldforms,youcanholdtheON
LINE buttondownforone
second.In additionto going off-line,the printer also feeds the paper
forward approximatelytwo inches.This allows you to cut it off just
belowthelastlineprinted.
WhenyoupresstheONLINEbuttonagainto gobackon-line,thepaper
feedsbackwardstoppingwhereyouleftoff.
NOTE: This functionis validonlywhenthebufferis empty.
