wantto stop,releasebothbuttons.
Clearingthe buffer
When DIP switch 1-2 is ON, the printer stores receiveddata in a large
memorybuffer.Thiscreatesaproblemwhenyouwanttoabandonaprinting
job andrestart:theprintermaybeholdingmoredatain itsbufferthanithas
actuallyprinted,andthisunprinteddatamustbeclearedoutbeforerestart-
ing.Turningpoweroff is onewayto clearthe buffer,but there is another
way:
1. Halt the printingprogramon the computer.If printingstopsimmedi-
ately,thebufferis clearandtherestofthisprocedureisunnecessary.If
printingdoesnot stop,continueas follows:
2. PresstheONLINEbuttontosettheprinteroff-line.Printingwinnowstop,
but theremaybe dataremaininginthebuffer.
3. Pressandholdthe
FONTbutton.
4.
WhileholdingtheFONTbuttondown,pressandholdtheONLINEbutton.
Continueholdingthesetwo buttonsdown.In aboutthreesecondsyou
willhear a beeptonesignalingthatthebufferhasbeencleared.
5. Releasethesebuttons,makeanynecessarycontrolpanelsettings,then
settheprinterbackon-line.
Itisessentialtohalttheprintingprogramonthecomputerbeforeyougooff-
lke. Otherwise,when
you go backon-linethecomputerwillstartsending
dataagainandtheprinterwillcontinueprinting,withmissingdatawherethe
bufferwas cleared.
