PRINTER CONTROL COMMANDS
Theprinterhastwo emulationmodes:Standardmodeand IBMmode.
IiIstandardmode,theprinteremulatesthefunctionsof theEpsonLX-850.
In IBM mode, the printer emulates the IBM Propnnter III. Additional
commandcodesare includedas a supersetof theseemulations.
TheemulationischangedbymeansofDIPswitch1-1.WhenON,theprinter
will be in standard mode, and when OFF, the printer will be in IBM
emulationmode(see Chapter3). It isnotpossibleto changethe emulation
modeby meansof softwarecontrolor thefrontcontrolpanel.
Thischapterdescribestheprinter’scontrolcommands.Somecommandsare
commontoboththestandardandIBMmodes.Inthedescriptionsofthecom-
mands,all commandswill be categorizedby function.The nameof each
commandis followedby atableliketheonebelow:

ASCII:
Indicates the ASCII coding of the command.
Controlcharactemare enclosedin pointedbrack-
ets:For example,<1>meanscharactercode 1.
Decimal: Givesthecommandin decimalcharactercodes.
Hexadecimal: Gives the command in hexadecimal character
codes.
Parametersforwhichvaluesmustbesuppliedareindicatedbyitalicletters
suchas n.
