Formatting a Floppy Disk
When you format a floppy disk, all data previously stored on the disk is
lost.
1. Make sure the floppy disk is not write-protected, and insert it into the floppy
disk drive.
2. Double-click My Computer on the desktop.
3. Click 3 ½ Floppy [A:]. From the File menu, select Format.
4. From the capacity drop-down list, select 1.44MB or 720KB.
5. Click Start to start formatting.
Backing Up Data
Dell recommends that you regularly back up the data on your hard disk drive. The
Windows operating system has a backup function you can use to back up your data.
