Problems with Printing
If the printer wont print, first check that:
The printer is turned on; the Ppower light is on.
Paper is loaded in the printer.
The printer is plugged into a working electrical outlet thats
not controlled by a switch or timer.
The interface cable is securely connected to the printer and
computer and that both are turned on.
If you still cant print, check these possible solutions, some
based on the status of your control panel lights.
All lights are off.
Only the Ppower light is on, but nothing prints.
Note:
If youre using
Windows 95 and you
see the New Hardware
Found screen after
installing the printer
software, click Do not
install a driver and click
OK.
Possible cause Solution
Printer is not receiving
power.
Turn on the printer, or
Turn off the power and plug in the power cord securely, or
Make sure the outlet is not controlled by a switch or timer and is
operable.
Possible cause Solution
The interface cable is
disconnected.
Turn off your printer and computer. Then make sure the cable is
connected securely and meets the printer’s specifications. Try
printing again.
Printer may have an internal
problem.
If the cable was not the problem, turn off the printer and
computer, disconnect the interface cable, and run a printer check
as described in Chapter 3.
