174 Configuring authentication
Configuring authentication
The basic steps for configuring and managing client authentication are:
Step Action
1 Create the authentication methods.
2 Configure specific settings for the methods.
3 Specify the order in which the authentication methods will be
applied. Perform this step even if you define only one method on
the Nortel SNAS.

To configure authentication, access the AAA menu by using the following
command:
/cfg/doamin #/aaa
From the AAA menu, you can manage the following authentication-related
tasks:
creating and configuring the authentication methods
“Configuring authentication methods” (page 177)
“Configuring advanced settings” (page 179)
“Configuring RADIUS authentication” (page 180)
“Configuring LDAP authentication” (page 187)
“Configuring local database authentication” (page 200)
setting the order in which authentication methods will be applied (see
“Specifying authentication fallback order” (page 209))
