10.7 Optional automatic duplex
unit
You can add an optional automatic duplex unit. See page
7 for accessory information.
A4, letter or legal-size recording paper (plain and thin)
can be used.
Important:
L Before starting installation of the optional
automatic duplex unit, be sure to turn the power
switch OFF. For more details about the
installation, please refer to the installation guide
for the optional automatic duplex unit.
L To use the optional automatic duplex unit with
your computer, you need to change the printer
properties. See page 85 for details.
10.8 Optional input tray
You can add an optional input tray. See page 7 for
accessory information.
A4, letter or legal-size recording paper (plain and thin)
can be used.
The optional input tray can hold:
– Up to 520 sheets of 75 g/m
2
(20 lb) paper.
– Up to 470 sheets of 80 g/m
2
(21 lb) paper.
– Up to 410 sheets of 90 g/m
2
(24 lb) paper.
– Up to 360 sheets of 105 g/m
2
(28 lb) paper.
L The unit is set for printing letter-size plain paper
by default.
– To use A4 or legal-size paper, change the
recording paper size setting (feature #382 on
page 61).
– To use thin paper, change the recording paper
type setting (feature #383 on page 61).
Important:
L Before starting installation of the optional input
tray, be sure to turn the power switch OFF. For
more details about the installation, please refer
to the installation guide for the optional input
tray.
L After installation, you can select the optional
input tray to be used for the following:
– Paper input tray setting for faxing (feature
#440 on page 65).
– Paper input tray setting for copying (feature
#460 on page 67).
– Paper input tray in PCL (feature #760 on page
68).
– Paper input tray setting for the scan to e-mail
print feature (feature #565 on page 74).
– Paper input tray setting for direct print
(Feature #669 on page 75).
L To use the optional input tray with your
computer, you need to change the printer
properties. See page 85 for details.
Caution for the optional input tray
L Do not drop the optional input tray.
L Hold the optional input tray with both hands
when removing or installing. The optional input
tray weighs approximately 4.8 kg (10.6 lb) when
the recording paper is fully installed.
