Installing PS440/PS420 (Paper
Feed Unit)

CAUTION:
There are two types of paper feed
units: PS440 (1000-sheet paper feed
unit) and PS420 (2000-sheet paper
feed unit). Only one of them can be in-
stalled at once. The installation of
PS440 is described below.
Important
❒ You can load A4 long-edge feed
(Metric version) or 8

into PS420. If you want to change
the paper size A4 to 8

sales or service representative.

• Installation Guide
Note
❒ The paper size seal and the tray
number seal are included only
with the printer.

Turn off the printer, and remove
all cables and cords from the
printer.
• Before installing options, the ma-
chine should be turned off and
unplugged for at least thirty min-
utes. Components inside the
machine become very hot, and
can cause a burn injury if
touched.
• When lifting the machine, use
the grips on both sides. The ma-
chine could break or cause an in-
jury if dropped It is dangerous to
handle the plug with wet hands.
Doing this may result in receiving
an electric shock.
• Before moving the machine, un-
plug the power cord from the out-
let. If the cord is unplugged
abruptly, it could become dam-
aged. Damaged plugs or cords
can cause an electrical or fire
hazard.
