Some parameters required for compliance with Telecom's Telepermit requirements are
dependent on the equipment (PC) associated with this device. In order to operate within the
limits for compliance with Telecom's Specifications, the associated equipment shall be set to
ensure that automatic calls to different numbers are spaced such that there is no less than 5
seconds between the end of one call attempt and the beginning of another.

limits for compliance with Telecom’s Specifications, the associated equipment shall be set to
ensure that calls are answered between 3 and 30 seconds of receipt of ringing.

This equipment should not be used under any circumstances which may constitute a nuisance to
other Telecom customers.

Not all telephones will respond to incoming ringing when connected to the extension socket.

This equipment may not provide for the effective hand-over of a call to another device
connected to the same line.

The answer delay setting of this equipment shall not be set to less than the default setting as this
will destroy Caller ID information.

All persons using this device for recording telephone conversations shall comply with New
Zealand law. This requires that at least one party to the conversation is to be aware that it is being
recorded. In addition, the Principles enumerated in the Privacy Act 1993 shall be complied with
in respect to the nature of the personal information collected, the purpose for its collection, how
it is to be used and what it disclosed to any other party.

The Caller ID Information is presented in the form: Area Code + Directory number
When dialling back, always insert a zero in front of the area code for a toll call and omit the area
code for a local call, If a zero is inserted in front of the area code for a local call, the call will
still proceed correctly but if the line has non-code access to another toll carrier, you should check
with that carrier before inserting zero on a local call.

Do not place this product on an unstable surface.

Slots and openings in the case and the back or bottom are provided for ventilation; to ensure reliable
operation of the product and to protect it from overheating, these openings must not be blocked or
covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug, or other
similar soft surface. This product should never be placed near or over a radiator or heater. This product
should not be placed in a built-in installation unless proper ventilation is provided.

This product should be operated from the type of power source indicated on the label. If you are
not sure of the type of power available, consult with your dealer or local power company.

This product is equipped with a 3-wire earthed plug. This plug will fit into only an earthed
socket. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug into the outlet, contact your
electrician to replace your obsolete socket. Do not defeat the purpose of an earthed plug.

Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord. Do not locate this product where people can
walk on the cord.

Do not place anything in front of the machine that will block received faxes. Do not place
anything in the path of received faxes.
