ESM must always be replaced in the upper switch module slot. Placing the
boards in the incorrect slot causes the ZX-250 switch to fail.

4.9.8 Removing I/O Modules
s• Ground yourself using a Cabletron-approved ESD device and appropriate safety procedures.
¢• Once a switch module is removed from the chassis, unfasten the IOMs from the switch module (see
Figure 4-9), using a screw driver (2 screws from the bottom, 1 screw from the front).
•• Remove the IOMs from the switch module (one at a time) by lifting them upward from the switch
module, disconnecting them from the switch modules’s DIN connector (see Figure 4-9).
