Cisco IOS XR Routing Configuration Guide
Resetting eBGP Session Immediately Upon Link Failure
Immediately resetting BGP sessions of any directly adjacent external peers if the link used to reach them
goes down is enabled by default. Use the bgp fast-external-fallover disable command to disable
automatic resetting. The bgp fast-external-fallover disable command can also be used to turn the
automatic reset back on.
Step 4
bgp confederation peers
autonomous-system-number
Example:
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config-bgp)# bgp
confederation peers 1091
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config-bgp)# bgp
confederation peers 1092
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config-bgp)# bgp
confederation peers 1093
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config-bgp)# bgp
confederation peers 1094
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config-bgp)# bgp
confederation peers 1095
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config-bgp)# bgp
confederation peers 1096
Specifies that the BGP autonomous systems 1091, 1092,
1093, 1094, 1095, and 1096 belong to BGP confederation
identifier 5.
Step 5
end
or
commit
Example:
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config-bgp)# end
or
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config-bgp)# commit
Saves configuration changes.
When you issue the end command, the system prompts
you to commit changes:
Uncommitted changes found, commit them before
exiting(yes/no/cancel)?
[cancel]:
Entering yes saves configuration changes to the
running configuration file, exits the configuration
session, and returns the router to EXEC mode.
Entering no exits the configuration session and
returns the router to EXEC mode without
committing the configuration changes.
Entering cancel leaves the router in the current
configuration session without exiting or
committing the configuration changes.
Use the commit command to save the configuration
changes to the running configuration file and remain
within the configuration session.
