Serial Menu
Allows you to make various settings concerned with the serial
interface.
Word Length
Selects the word length used in serial communication (either 8-bit
or 7-bit). See your computer manual and software documentation
for the proper setting. The factory setting is
8-bit
.
Baud Rate
Use this option to set the data transfer rate (baud) for the serial
interface. The baud rate is measured in bits per second (bps). See
your computer and software documentation for the proper
setting.
Parity
Selects the parity method used for data transfer using the serial
interface. Parity is a basic error-checking method used in serial
communications. Consult your computer manual and software
documentation for the correct setting.
Stop Bit
Selects the number of stop bits for each character (byte) of
information sent to the printer. Stop bits are used to mark the end
of a character. Consult your computer manual and software
documentation for the correct setting.
DTR
Selects DTR (Data Terminal Ready), sometimes known as
“hardware handshaking”, on or off. Consult your computer
manual and software documentation for the correct setting.
