If paper is jammed at the paper exit, the display shows

Paper Jam

1. Open the cover and remove the cartridge.
2. If you have fitted the optional duplex unit, unfasten and tilt
back the vertical component of the duplex unit so that you can
access the paper exit.
3. If you have fitted the optional face up tray, remove the face
up tray so that you can access the paper exit.

Warning:
The paper and fuser are hot, so exercise caution.
4. Look for a sheet of paper protruding from the paper exit.
5. Carefully but firmly pull the sheet of paper from the exit. If
the paper tears when you try to remove it, make sure you
remove any pieces remaining in the printer.
6. If you opened the optional duplex unit or removed the
optional face up tray, close and re-fasten the duplex unit or
replace the face up tray.
7. As previously described, remove any jammed or partially-fed
sheets of paper or other media from the cassette tray or the
MP tray.
8. Replace the cassette tray or MP tray media before continuing
with the print job.
