4. Extend the server from the rack.
5. Remove the access panel.
6. If the existing cache module is connected to a capacitor pack, observe the FBWC module LEDs:
If the amber LED is flashing, data is trapped in the cache. Restore system power, and restart
this procedure from step 1.
If the amber LED is not lit, remove the controller from the server, and then continue with the
next step.
7. Open the ejector latches on each side of the DIMM slot. Normally, the cache module is ejected
from the DIMM slot. If the module is not ejected automatically, remove the cache module.
8. If the cache module is connected to a capacitor pack, disconnect the capacitor pack cable from
the connector on the top of the cache module.
To replace the component:
CAUTION: To prevent damage to the cache module during installation, be sure the cache
module is fully inserted before pressing down.
