Chapter 4: Wireless Network Configuration
Introduction
Several wireless devices may be installed in the Thor VX9 computer. The available devices and combinations may vary by
regulatory domain. Available devices include:
l An 802.11 a/b/g/n radio with Summit Client Utility (SCU)
l An 802.11 a/b/g radio with Atheros Client Utility (ACU)
l An 802.11 b/g radio with Broadcom Wireless Utility (BWU)
l A Bluetooth radio
l an Option® WWAN radio with GlobeTrotter® Connect software.
l a GOBI WWAN radio with OneClick Internet software.
A SIM card must be installed for some WWAN carriers.
Differences in operation based on operating system type are marked with the icon shown:
Windows® 7 Professional
Windows® Embedded Standard
Windows® XP Embedded
Windows® XP Professional
For most cases, make sure Windows is NOT used to configure wireless network settings. The Summit, Atheros or Broadcom
utility provides enhanced radio configuration options over the Windows utility.
