Diagnostics
The router has a diagnostics feature that helps you troubleshoot a network connection issue.
To use diagnostics:
1. Log in to the router as described in Log In to Your Router on page 17.
2. From the main menu, select Maintenan
ce > Diagnostics.
You can perform the following tests and actions:
• Ping. Ping an IP add
ress.
• Lookup. A Domain
Name Server (DNS) converts the Internet name such as
www.netgear.com to an IP address. If you need the IP address of a server on the
Internet, you can do a DNS lookup to find the IP address.
• Display. Vi
ew the internal routing table. Typically, this information is used by technical
support.
• Reboot. Shut d
own and restart the router. If you reboot the router, you lose your
connection. To access the router, you have to log in again after it has finished
rebooting.
• Save. Save dia
