1 Installing Macintosh software
‘The general steps for installing the Fiery SI user software from the CD and setting up
printing from a Macintosh computer are:
• Install the utilities and files.
• Move files to the appropriate locations.
• If you will be using Photoshop, install the EFICOLOR
™
Separation Tables for your
Fiery SI.
• Copy additional color reference files from the User Software CD as needed.
• If you will be using Fiery XJ Scan, load the monitor settings file.
• Install the Adobe PostScript Printer Driver.
Installing Macintosh software
The Software Installer provides the following installation options:
• Utilities—Installs Fiery XJ Downloader, Fiery XJ Spooler, and Fiery XJ Print
Calibrator.
• EFICOLOR—Installs the files used by Photoshop to ensure high color quality.
• Photoshop Plug-ins—Installs Fiery XJ Scan.
• Color Reference—Installs the CMYK and PANTONE color reference pages.
• Screen Fonts—Installs the screen fonts that correspond to the printer fonts installed
on the Fiery SI hard disk.

:
1. If you are using an external CD-ROM drive, connect it to your Macintosh.
2. Insert the User Software CD or Disk 1.
3. Double-click to open the Installer folder.
