C.1 REQUIRED TOOLS
You need the following tools to perform the procedures provided in this
appendix:
• Antistatic wrist strap (provided)
• Phillips screwdriver
C.2 REMOVING THE CHASSIS COVER
This section describes how to remove the 2H28-08R chassis cover.
To remove the chassis cover, proceed as follows:
1. Disconnect the 2H28-08R from the network as follows:
a. Unplug both power cords from the rear of the chassis.
b. Disconnect all network cables attached to the 2H28-08R.
DO NOT REMOVE THE COVER FROM THE 2H28-08R
WHILE POWER IS APPLIED TO THE UNIT. HAZARDOUS
VOLTAGES ARE PRESENT AND COULD CAUSE PERSONAL
INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE THE UNIT.
DO NOT POWER UP THE 2H28-08R AGAIN UNTIL THE
COVER AND SCREWS ARE IN PLACE.
THIS UNIT MAY HAVE MORE THAN ONE POWER SUPPLY
CORD. DISCONNECT TWO POWER SUPPLY CORDS
BEFORE SERVICING TO AVOID ELECTRIC SHOCK.
TURN OFF THE 2H28-08R BY UNPLUGGING BOTH OF THE
POWER CORDS FROM THE REAR OF THE CHASSIS.
TIP
Before performing step b, mark the cables connected to the
2H28-08R according to their associated port numbers. This is
recommended for ease of reinstallation.
