CHAPTER 3
INSTALLATION
This chapter provides the instructions to install the 2H28-08R. Follow the
order of the sections listed below to correctly install the 2H28-08R.
• Required Tools (Section 3.1)
• Unpacking the 2H28-08R (Section 3.2)
• Installing Optional Equipment (Section 3.3)
• Installing the 2H28-08R (on a shelf, tabletop, or into a standard rack)
(Section 3.4)
• Connecting to the Network (Section 3.5)
• Completing the Installation (Section 3.6)
3.1 REQUIRED TOOLS
A Phillips screwdriver is required to install the 2H28-08R in a rack, and to
install any optional Fast Ethernet Interface Modules.
3.2 UNPACKING THE 2H28-08R
To unpack the 2H28-08R and verify the contents of the shipment, proceed
as follows:
1. Open the carton and remove the packing material protecting the
2H28-08R.
2. Verify the contents of the carton as listed in Table 3-1.
Only qualified personnel should install the 2H28-08R.
