If you are installing a serial ATA drive:
a
Connect a power cable to the back of the hard drive and to the power
supply.
b
Connect the serial ATA cable to the back of the hard drive and to the
SATA connector on the system board.

If you are installing a SAS drive:
a
Connect the power cable to the SAS connector.
b
Connect the SAS connector to the back of the drive.
c
Connect the SAS cable to the SAS controller card.
