Removing a Floppy Drive or Media Card Reader (Tower Computer)

Follow the procedures in "Before You Begin" on page 143.

Remove the computer cover (see "Removing the Computer Cover" on
page 145).

Remove the front panel (see "Removing the Front Panel" on page 154).

If you are removing a floppy drive:
a
Disconnect the power cable from the back of the floppy drive.
b
Disconnect the data cable from the back of the floppy drive.

If you are removing a Media Card Reader,
disconnect the data cable from
the back of the Media Card Reader.

Disconnect the other end of the data cable from the system board
connector labeled "FLOPPY" (for a floppy drive) or "USB1" (for a Media
Card Reader). To locate system board connectors, see "System Board
Components" on page 148.
