In the case of sites A and D, when we enter all the backup jobs, we will have seven backup jobs running in
parallel which will give us best throughput and backup performance.
3. For each Job you can view the rotation scheme and predicted deduplication ratios by displaying the Output
from within the Dedupe tab.
Site A Filesystem 1
uses an Incrementals
& Fulls backup
scheme
This parameter is the block
change rate of data per day
and will determine along with
retention period the dedupe
ratio achieved and the
amount of data to be
replicated. The default is 2% -
for dynamic change
environments increase this
number.
For Site A Filesystem1 the retention scheme is Daily
incrementals for 6 days, Weekly full backups kept for 4
weeks and then a monthly full backup. Inputting 6-6, for
incremental, 4-4 for weekly fulls, and 1 for the monthly
fulls allows us to simulate this retention scheme. See
output in step 3.
