This section provides detailed specifications and recommended products for the
customer-responsibility interface cables. For the V.24/V.35/X.21 cables provided as
fittings, see Subsection 3.9.3.

Note: For direct connection between the router and the other end device, make sure of the connector
type on the other end device which may require a different cable.

Note: The customer responsibility interface cables include multimode and single-mode optical fiber
cables. Since the optical fiber cable may take various routes (e.g., outdoor pipes, ducts,
troughs, bitts on utility poles and buildings, pipeshafts, racks, and garrets), special attention
has to be paid for the physical structure of the optical fiber cables to be procured.
• Make sure that the inner core fibers are duly protected from mechanical stresses (e.g.,
repeated bends, stretches, compressions, and rubs during the routing work) and
environmental stresses.
