4.3 TCP/IP Settings
Settings can be specified in order to use this machine in a TCP/IP network
environment.

Reminder
In order apply all changes to the network settings, this machine must be
turned off, then on again.
When the machine is turned off, then on again with the main power
switch, wait at least 10 seconds to turn on the machine after turning it off;
otherwise, the machine may not function correctly.

Detail
If “DHCP Settings” is set to “ON”, [IP Address], [Subnet Mask] and [De-
fault Gateway] are not available.
When a DHCP server is used, the IP address, subnet mask and default
gateway are automatically assigned by the DHCP server; therefore, it is
not necessary to assign them manually. However, note the following
points.
Check with the network administrator that the DHCP server is available.
If a DHCP server is not available, be sure to specify settings for “IP Ad-
dress”, “Subnet Mask” and “Default Gateway”.
If the IP address and other settings have been assigned by the DHCP
server, they may automatically be changed. If this happens, it may no
longer be possible to specify this machine on the network by its IP ad-
dress. If “DHCP Settings” is set to “ON”, it is recommended that the IP
address assigned to the machine be fixed by configuring the DHCP serv-
er.

playing the Administrator Settings screen” on page 3-7.
