4.2 Answering phone calls
4.2.1 With the cordless handset
1 Lift the cordless handset and press {C} or
{s}.
L You can also answer a call by pressing
any dial key from {0} to {9}, {*}, {#} or
{INT}. (Any key answer feature)
2 When finished talking, press {ih} or place
the cordless handset on the charger.
Auto talk feature
You can answer calls simply by lifting the
cordless handset off the charger. You do not
need to press {C}. To turn this feature ON, see
page 76.
4.2.2 With the base unit
1 Lift the handset or press {DIGITAL SP-
PHONE}.
2 When finished talking, replace the handset
or press {DIGITAL SP-PHONE}.
Recording
4.3 Recording a telephone
conversation (Cordless
handset only)
You can record a telephone conversation using
the cordless handset. Recorded conversations
are treated as new messages. To listen to the
recorded conversation, see page 58, 60.
L Keep the front cover page open for button
locations.
1 Press * (centre of joystick) during a
conversation.
2 Press ,.
L A beep is heard and recording starts.
L A beep sounds every 15 seconds and
can be heard by the other party, but is not
recorded.
3 To stop recording, press Z.
Note:
L There may be legal restrictions on recording
two-way telephone conversations. Inform the
other party that the conversation is being
recorded.
For Australian users:
L All persons using this device for recording
telephone conversations shall comply with
Australian law.
For New Zealand users:
L All persons using this device for recording
telephone conversations shall comply with
New Zealand law. This requires that at least
one party to the conversation is to be aware
that it is being recorded. In addition, the
Principles enumerated in the Privacy Act
1993 shall be complied with in respect to the
nature of the personal information collected,
the purpose for its collection, how it is used
and what is disclosed to any other party.
