Power Failure
Power Failure
The fax display remains off for the duration of a power failure, and you cannot send or receive
documents.
If a power failure occurs while scanning a document, the scan is canceled. Rescan the document when power
recovers. If a power failure occurs while sending a document from memory, the fax or document will be resent
immediately upon recovery.
Problem Condition Result
When a power failure
occurs
You are talking to a remote party. You can continue talking. (external telephone
connection)
You are sending a fax. The fax transmission is aborted. Resend when
power recovers.
You are receiving a fax. The fax reception is aborted. Ask the remote party
to resend when power recovers.
While a power failure
persists
Make phone calls. Possible with the external telephone connection.
Receive phone calls. Possible with the external telephone connection
Send a fax. You cannot send a fax.
Receive a fax. You cannot receive a fax.
When power recovers Memory content. Transmission and transmission data stored in
memory is preserved intact.
Data preprogrammed or preset on
your machine.
Data preprogrammed or preset in the address
book and on program dialing, Function
Parameters are preserved through the power
failure.
