What You Can Do With This Ma-
chine <Color Functions/Color Ad-
justments>
The followings are types of image ad-
justments you can make.
Sharp/Soft
For adjusting the outline of an im-
age.
Contrast
For adjusting the shades of an im-
age.
Background Density
For adjusting the background den-
sity of an image.
Adjust U.C.R
For expressing vividly the black
areas in an image by adjusting the
amount of black toner.
Text/Photo Sensitivity
For adjusting the standard level in
judging the image in the text and
the photo part, when using
Text/Photo.
Note
Sharp/Soft Contrast Back-
ground Density can each be ad-
justed, however, their adjustments
can affect the level of other adjust-
ment functions.
When adjusting the image qual-
ity, the indicator of the {
{{
{Ad-
just/Program Color}
}}
} key will light
up.
The adjusted settings will be de-
leted and the initial values will
be reset, when Auto Clear has
been performed, when the
{
{{
{Clear Modes}
}}
} key has been
pressed or when the power has
been turned off.

Adjusting the Sharp/Soft
A Adjust by pressing [Soft] or
[Sharp].
B Press [OK].
Adjusting the contrast
A Adjust by pressing [Low] or
[High].
B Press [OK].
Adjusting the background density
A Adjust by pressing [Lighter] or
[Darker].
Note
Adjustments should be made
lightly when copying dark
textured originals, such as
newspaper or recycled pa-
per.
