The Network Parameters menu offers the following options:
1. IP Address: Defines the IP Address for the CMS unit. Type 1 press [Enter], and follow
the instructions in the submenu. (Default = undefined).
2. Subnet Mask: Defines the Subnet Mask for the CMS unit. Type 2 press [Enter], and
follow the instructions in the submenu. (Default = undefined)
3. Gateway Address: Defines the Gateway Address for the CMS unit. Type 3 press
[Enter], and follow the instructions in the submenu. (Default = undefined).
4. IP Security: Sets up the IP Security feature as described in Section 5.5.5.
11. Supervisor Mode (Port 23): Permits or denies access to the Supervisor Mode. When
enabled (Permit), and the valid Supervisor Password is entered, this port may then issue
Supervisor level commands. If disabled (Deny), the port may not enter Supervisor Mode,
even when the Supervisor Password is entered. (Default = Permit).
Note: Item 11 will only be applied to logical TCP Ports N1 through N5. The
Supervisor Mode cannot be disabled at Port N6 (Port 2001). Port N6 will only
accept the Supervisor Level Password, and will not accept Port (User) Passwords.
This ensures that the system administrator will always have network access to the
CMS command mode.
12. Logoff Character: Defines the Logoff Character for the Network Port. The Logoff
Character determines the disconnect sequence that is issued at this port in order to
disconnect from a second port (Resident Disconnect). When defining the Logos
Character, note the following:
• The default Logoff Character is “+”. The default Resident Disconnect Sequence is
[Enter]+++[Enter].
•
The default three character Resident Disconnect Sequence uses the format
[Enter]LLL[Enter], where L is the Logoff Character. If the one character disconnect is
selected (see item 14), a resident connection is terminated by simply typing the Logoff
Character once (without carriage returns)
