Software/Drivers
The following software is provided to optimize the use of your
MFC-9870. The software can run under Windows
®
95, 98 and Windows
NT
®
Workstation Version 4.0.
■ Printer Driver*- The printer driver creates the print data from the
applications, controls transmission and makes
settings for printing. It is necessary to install the
MFC-9870 printer driver into your PC for printing.
■ Scanner Driver*-The MFC-9870 scanner driver is TWAIN
compliant. You can use the scanner directly from
TWAIN compliant applications. In the scanner
driver you can change settings for scanning.
■ Maintenance Utility for DOS-
This is utility software running under MS-DOS. If
you are not using Windows, you can use the
machine’s HP/Laserjet IIP emulation to print. Some
settings which are unique to the machine and
maintenance operations can be made with this
utility.
■ MFL Unimessage Pro Software-
This software allows you to send and receive faxes
with your PC, please refer to the MFL Unimessage
Pro Manual for further information. The Brother
Resource Manager must be installed to use this
software.
