POST Error Messages
The Smart Array 3200 Controller produces diagnostic error messages at reboot.
Many of these Power-On Self-Test (POST) messages are self-explanatory and
suggest corrective actions for troubleshooting. Detailed information and
corrective actions are listed below.
NOTE: SCSI Port 1 refers to internal or external drives attached to the internal
Port 1 connector. SCSI Port 2 refers to external drives installed in a Compaq
ProLiant Storage System attached to the external Port 2 connector.

1702 SCSI Cable Error Detected. System Halted. This message indicates a termination or cabling
problem with the system board integrated SCSI
controller. Refer to cabling information in the

1720 Slot x Drive Array - S.M.A.R.T. Hard Drive
Detects Imminent Failure SCSI:
Port y: SCSI ID x.
The indicated drive has reported a S.M.A.R.T.
predictive-failure condition. It may fail at some
time in the future. If this drive is part of a non-
fault-tolerant configuration, back up all data
before replacing the drive and restore all data
afterwards. If this drive is part of a fault-tolerant
configuration, do not replace this drive unless
all other drives in the array are online. Press F1
to resume.
