copying problems
hp digital copier does not turn on
nothing happens when I try to copy
I cannot use the double-sided printing accessory to make two-sided copies
cause solution
The HP Digital Copier
Printer is not properly
connected to a power
supply.
• Make sure the power cord is firmly connected to both the HP Digital
Copier Printer and the power supply box. Plug the power cord into a
grounded power outlet, surge protector, or power strip.
• If you are using a power strip, make sure the power strip is on. Or, try
plugging the HP Digital Copier Printer directly into the power outlet.
• Test the power outlet to make sure it is working.
• If you have plugged the HP Digital Copier Printer into a switched outlet,
make sure the switch is on.
The HP Digital Copier
Printer may not
respond if you press
the On button too
quickly.
Press the On button once slowly.
Warning! If the HP Digital Copier Printer still does not turn on, it may
have a mechanical failure. Unplug the HP Digital Copier Printer from
the power outlet and contact HP.
cause solution
The unit is off. Look on the HP Digital Copier Printer display. If the display is blank, the
HP Digital Copier Printer is turned off. Make sure the unit is connected to
a power outlet, and then press the On button.
The original is not
placed on the glass or
in the ADF correctly.
For more information on loading originals, see load originals on page 5.
The unit does not
recognize the paper
type.
Make sure you are not using a small paper type. Do not use the HP Digital
Copier Printer to copy onto envelopes or other small papers. When
making a copy, you must have letter, A4, or legal-sized paper loaded.
The unit has a paper
jam.
For information on clearing a paper jam, see paper jams on page 31.

Printing accessory
does not work with
the copy features.
You can only use the Double-sided Printing accessory with the printing
