ink is drying
mechanism error
need print cartridge alignment
out of paper
paper is too narrow
cause solution
Transparencies or
other media require a
longer than normal
drying time.
Leave the media in the output tray until the message disappears. If
necessary, carefully remove the printed media. Hold them from the
underside or the edges, and then place them on a flat surface to dry.
cause solution
Protective tape is
covering the print
cartridge.
Make sure you have removed all the tape over the nozzles. Reinsert the
print cartridges and verify that they are fully inserted and locked in place.
The unit has a paper
jam.
For information on clearing a paper jam, see paper jams on page 31.
The print-carriage is
blocked.
Make sure you have removed all packing materials.
Remove any objects that are blocking the print-carriage, and then turn
the HP Digital Copier Printer off and on.
cause solution
You installed new
print cartridges.
You must align the print cartridges to ensure excellent print quality.
After you insert a new print cartridge, press Enter on the front-panel.
If you see this message repeatedly, the print cartridge may be bad.
cause solution
The paper tray does
not have enough
paper.
Make sure you have the paper tray loaded and on an even surface.
The back door is off
the unit.
If you have removed the back door to clear a paper jam, replace it.
cause solution
The paper you have
loaded is not the
correct size.
When making a copy, you must have letter, A4, or legal-sized paper
loaded.
