must be reset to run at the lower speed. Restarting the bus requires that
the operating system be rebooted.
With this checkbox unchecked, the wizard may suggest the adapter be
added to a 133 MHz bus if it is the best slot, and will ask the user to restart
the system. With the box checked, the wizard will not suggest the slot on a
133 MHz bus even though it is the best slot, but will try to find a slot that
does not require a server restart.
By limiting the wizard this way, it may fail to find a slot. If it does find a slot,
the adapter will not require the system to be restarted, but the adapter may
not be running at the best speed or in the best mode.
2. To add the IBM Gigabit Ethernet SX Adapter, select it from the list. The
characteristics of the adapter are listed on the right side, as shown in
Figure 5-8.

3. To insert the adapter, click Begin. Active PCI Manager analyzes the available
slots to find the one that provides the best performance for this adapter. While
this is running, the following message is displayed:
Please wait while the system is being analyzed. This may take
several minutes.
