A.3.5 Display a Volume
Volumes can be displayed, to ensure that the allocation was done correctly. As an
example, Figure 88 on page 165 shows the contents of volume RV2CU1. From
this figure we can see that only two data sets are allocated on this volume. This is
the expected result:

A.4 DB2 Table Spaces Using SMS, Existing Names
Test case 3 illustrates a table space allocation using SMS. The purpose is to
show a simple step-by-step process to achieve the placement of data under SMS
control, and is based upon the following environment:
Two existing DB2 subsystems; DB2D (development), and DB2P (production)
are to be converted.
The performance, availability, management, and volume location criteria of the
data sets are shown in 6.1, “SMS Examples for DB2 Databases” on page 47.
The existing naming convention for DB2 data sets uses the DB2 subsystem
name as high level qualifier. There is no naming convention for databases and
tablespaces.
The following conditions are agreed upon by the DB2 administrator and the
storage administrator for the conversion:
Most production databases will be allocated to volumes in the SGDB20
storage group. Table spaces in the critical database BACCTS are
allocated on SGDBCRIT. Table spaces in the high performance
