Test Cases for DB2 Recovery Data Sets 191
Figure 127. ISPF Data Set List of Active Logs
It can be seen from the above the list, that the use of the GUARANTEED SPACE
parameter has allowed the even distribution of the six files across the three
designated volumes, ensuring that optimum performance and availability are
provided.
B.2 Archive Logs
This second test case illustrates the allocation of archive logs, and is based on
the following assumptions:
There are three DB2 subsystems: DB2D, DB2T, and DB2P.
The naming standard for the data sets is shown in 3.6.3, “Archive Logs” on
page 19, using as high level qualifier the subsystem identifier.
Storage Class, Management Class and Storage Group constructs are created
with the criteria as defined in 7.1, “SMS Examples for DB2 Recovery Data
Sets” on page 63.
The ACS routines from the example in B.1, “BSDS and Active Logs” on page
185 will be extended to support the archive log data sets.
B.2.1 Storage Class
One Storage Class, SCDBARCH was added to the SMS configuration for all
archive log data sets of the three subsystems.
Figure 128 on page 192 shows an extract of the extended Storage Class ACS
routine used in the previous test case, now incorporating the archive logs:
