Replacing the release tab on a controller or power supply
The miscellaneous hardware kit contains two replacement release tabs: one for a
power supply and one for a controller or controller filler panel. Obtain a
miscellaneous hardware kit if you have to replace a release tab (see Table 6 on
page 106).
Before you replace a release tab, read the following important information:
v In this procedure, the term controller refers to a controller or controller filler panel.
v Make sure that you have a size #1 or #0 Phillips screwdriver.
To replace a release tab, complete the following steps:
1. Read the safety information that begins on page xi and “Best practices
guidelines” on page 6.
2. Make sure that it is safe to proceed:
v If you are replacing the release tab on the only controller in the DS3200,
make sure that the DS3200 is shut down for maintenance.
v If you are replacing a power-supply release tab, make sure that the power
supplies are providing redundant power (on both power supplies, the ac
power LED and dc power LEDs are lit, and the fault LED is off). If the power
supplies are not providing redundant power, resolve the redundancy problem
first, or wait until the DS3200 is shut down for maintenance, before you
replace the release tab.
3. Remove the controller or power supply from the DS3200 chassis. See
“Removing a controller” on page 63 or “Replacing a power supply” on page 82.
