IBM DS3200 Storage Subsystem Tablet Accessory User Manual

Chapter 3. Cabling the storage subsystem
After the storage subsystem is installed in its permanent location, you must cable it
to hosts, drives, and other external devices, depending on your hardware
configuration.
SAS controller connectors
Figure 13 shows controller A, the host ports, and the drive expansion port at the
rear of a single-controller DS3200 storage subsystem.
Figure 14 shows an optional host port adapter installed in both controllers.
Controllers A and B, the host ports, and the drive expansion ports at the rear of a
dual-controller DS3200 storage subsystem are shown.
Host port 1, Host port 2, and Host port 3
The DS3200 host ports are each a x4 multilane, 3 Gbps universal mini-SAS
port. Connect a SAS cable from your host system SAS host bus adapter to
a host port on each controller.
Drive expansion port
The drive expansion port is a x4 multilane SAS port. Connect a SAS cable
to this port and to a drive expansion enclosure.
