Paper Feeding Problems
Problem
Paper is jammed during
printing.
Clear paper jam. See page 8.2.
Paper sticks together.
Make sure there is not too much paper in the automatic
sheet feed. The automatic sheet feed can hold up to 100
sheets of paper.
Make sure you are using the correct type of paper. See
ÔPaper Type and SizesÕ on page 2.7.
Remove paper from the automatic sheet feed and flex or
fan the paper.
Humid conditions may cause some paper to stick
together.
Paper fails to feed.
Make sure the paper load lever is closed.
Remove any obstructions inside the printer.
Solution
Paper skews or buckles in
the automatic sheet
feed.
Make sure there is not too much paper in the automatic
sheet feed. The automatic sheet feed can hold up to 100
sheets of paper.
Make sure the paper guides do not cause the paper to
bow in the automatic sheet feed.
Make sure you are using the correct type of paper. See
ÔPaper Type and SizesÕ on page 2.7.
When loading paper, do not force the paper down into
the printer.
Make sure the envelope guides are not in the envelope
position.
Paper skews in the
manual feed.
Continue to hold the paper in place until it begins to
feed.
Multiple sheets of paper
feed.
Make sure the paper load lever is closed.
When loading paper, do not force the paper down into
the printer.
If multiple sheets have caused a paper jam, clear the
paper jam. See page 8.2.
