10 Type a five-dig it name in the Network key box.
11 Click OK. Your new Network name appears in the Preferred networks
window.
12 Click Advanced. The Advanced dialog box open s.
13 Select the Computer-to-computer (ad hoc) networks only option.

Turning Off Wireless LAN
When you are not using the Wireless LAN network, disconnect the PC Card
when the notebook is turned Off. Press the PC Card slot eject button, and hold
both sides of the card to pull it out of the slot.
To remove the wireless LAN PC Card when the notebook is turned on
1 Double-click X located near the bottom right of the notebook.
2 Select ORiNOCO Wireless LAN PC Card from the list.
3 Click Stop.
4 Confirm the device wh en the confirm screen is displ a yed.
5 Click OK.
6 When “...is safe to remove” is displayed in the notification area, press the PC
Card slot eject button.
7 Hold both sides of the card to pull it out of the slot.
Notes on using Wireless LAN
❑ Sony Wireless LAN devices support the IEEE 802.11b standard. Devices
connecting to a Wireless LAN using the IEEE 802.11a standard cannot
connect to devices using the IEEE 802.11b standard.
Removing the PC Card when the notebook is turned On can damage the
system if done incorrectly.
