Usage tips
Base DN examples:
OU=employees,DC=company,DC=com
OU=marketing,OU=employees,DC=co
mpany,DC=com
In this example, OU ‗marketing‘ is
contained within the OU ‗employees‘;
therefore,
OU=employees,DC=company,DC=com
identifies all employees including the
Marketing department and
OU=marketing,OU=employees,DC=co
mpany,DC=com identifies users from
the Marketing department only.
User DN
The LDAP identifier of the account in your
domain which the Content Server uses to
identify who is trying to log in. The User
DN (Distinguished name) is a unique
name for this account comprising:
CN (Common Name) of the special
account
OU (Organizational Unit)
DC (Domain Object Class)
User DN examples:
CN=user_account,OU=employees,DC=co
mpany,DC=com

Note that DNs can have many more than
four parts.
This account must have read
membership privileges, that is,
privileges to retrieve users‘ ‗memberOf‘
attributes from Active Directory using
