10.16 Searching for Ports & Stations
10.17 Upgrading Firmware
You can search for KVM ports and cascaded/daisy-chained stations in the KVM installation by typing all or part of the port or station name.
To search for a KVM port:
Click the Search menu. The Search Web Page opens Figure 24).
Type a port note or station name in the Port Note/Station Name eld.
Legal characters include: a–z, A–Z, 0–9, space, and hyphen. If no
characters are entered, all KVM ports in the installation will be returned.
Click Search. All entries that match or contain the search term(s) appear
in a list.
Super administrators can upgrade rmware for B060-032-8 Matrix KVM Switches, attached Console Interface Units (CIUs) and Server Interface Units
(SIUs). As new versions of the B060-032-8 rmware become available, they can be downloaded from the support section of www.tripplite.com. Check the
Website regularly to nd the latest information and rmware upgrade packages. If there is nothing posted on Tripp Lite’s website, there are no rmware
upgrades currently available.
To download the rmware upgrade package:
From a computer that is not part of your KVM installation go to the Software Downloads section on www.tripplite.com and choose from the options
provided. A list of available rmware upgrade packages appears.
Choose the rmware upgrade package that you wish to install (usually the most recent) and download it to your computer. There may be two different
rmware upgrade packages available for each rmware version:
(a) To upgrade the rmware for all possible devices in the installation, choose a rmware upgrade package with an FW extension. Note: Only
B060-032-8 switches and their attached Console Interface Units (CIUs) and Server Interface Units (SIUs) can be upgraded using a rmware upgrade
package with an FW extension. Any other KVM switch, its attached CIUs and SIUs, regardless of their type, cannot be upgraded from the
B060-032-8. To upgrade rmware for KVM switches and console modules not mentioned above, refer to the user manuals for those devices.
(b) To upgrade the rmware for the rst-level (root) B060-032-8 only, choose a rmware upgrade package with an EXE extension (the Firmware
Upgrade Utility). Use this rmware upgrade package in single-level installations and when recovering from a failed rmware upgrade.
Preparing to Upgrade Firmware
Notify all users to logout of the OSD and the B060-032-8 Administrator Utility.
Ensure that all computers are powered on; otherwise, some Server Interface Units (SIUs) may not be upgraded. (Disregard this if you are using the
Firmware Upgrade Utility to upgrade the rmware.)
Ensure that the B060-032-8 and all B062-002-PS2s and B062-002-USBs have the Firmware Upgrade switch set to Normal.
Disconnect all Daisy-Chained KVM Switches before performing the Firmware Upgrade.
