Troubleshooting
To Change Video Memory Settings Using
BIOS Setup Utility
The notebook comes with either 32 MB or 16 MB of video
memory.
Changing your video memory to 8 MB, 16 MB, 32 MB, or
64 MB may change the performance of your notebook,
depending on your selection.
To change your video memory:
1. Select Start > Turn Off Computer > Restart.
2. Press
F2 when the splash screen appears.
3. Move the
down arrow key until UMA Video Memory is
highlighted. Press
enter to bring up a list of memory settings.
Selections include 8 MB, 16 MB, 64 MB, or Auto.
4. Press
F10 to save configuration changes and exit BIOS screen.

the Web
Software and driver updates for your notebook are available for
download. For more information, visit the Compaq Help and
Support Web site at
http://www.compaq.com/consumersupport.
Using System Recovery Features
The notebook system recovery process provides several options
for recovering optimal system functionality. The Notebook
Recovery Solution consists of the following restore CDs:
Operating System CD
Driver Recovery CD
Application Recovery CDs
Third-party CDs for software included on select models
