adequate grounding of the system board and result system failures.

Connect the 12-V and 24-pin power cables to the system board.

Connect the chassis front-fan and chassis rear-fan power cables to the
system board.

Connect all front panel cables to the system board.

Connect all CD/DVD/floppy/media card reader/hard drive data cables to
the system board.

If the system board is a replacement:
a
Install the memory modules onto the system board (see "Replacing or
Adding a Memory Module" on page 90).
b
Install the processor onto the system board (see "Replacing the
Processor" on page 100).
c
Install the processor heat-sink assembly onto the system board (see
"Replacing the Processor Heat-Sink Assembly" on page 87).

Connect any additional cables to the system board as required.

Install all PCI and PCI Express cards into the expansion-card slots.

Check all cable connections throughout the computer chassis to ensure
they are secure.

Follow the procedure in "After Working on Your Computer" on page 17.

Verify that your computer works correctly by running the Dell™
Diagnostics (see "Dell Diagnostics" on page 136).
