36 Deploying the PERC Card
Removing the PERC Controller

Perform a controlled shutdown of the system and attached peripherals.

Disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and remove the system
cover.

Remove the storage controller from the PCIe slot of the system.
See Figure 3-1, Figure 3-2, or Figure 3-3 as relevant to the type of PERC
controller that you have.
Installing the PERC Controller

Perform a controlled shutdown of the system and attached peripherals.

Disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and remove the system
cover.

Install the storage controller in the appropriate controller slot and connect
all the cables to the storage controller.
See Figure 3-1, Figure 3-2, or Figure 3-3 as relevant to the type of PERC
controller that you have.

Replace the system cover.

Reconnect the system to its electrical outlet and turn the system on,
including any attached peripherals.
