The printer prints garbled text
System problems
The system will not start up
The printer has not been
added to the system
In the Printers window (Start | Settings |
Printers), double-click Add Printer. Follow the
on-screen instructions for adding the new
printer.
Probable cause Solution
The wrong driver is being
used for the selected
printer
In the Printers window (Start | Settings |
Printers), select the printer. From the File
menu, click Properties. Make sure that the
printer is using the correct printer driver. If not,
install the correct one.
Probable cause Solution
The system is not
connected to an AC
outlet
Make sure that the power cable is connected
to an operating AC power source.
Voltage selection switch
not set correctly
Make sure that the voltage selection switch is
set to the correct power source.
Power supply alarm
buzzes and power
supply status LED blinks
indicating a failed power
supply module
Replace the indicated power supply module.
(You can turn off the audible alarm by inserting
an appropriate tool into the port on the front
panel and pressing the switch.)
Power supply alarm
buzzes and both power
supply status LEDs blink,
indicating a failed
common component
Replace the entire power supply housing.
(One or both of the power supply modules may
also be bad.)
