Installing the IRUs in a Rack

Note: Even with the blades, power supplies and fan module disconnected, the IRU’s base
unit is heavy. Always use two people when installing it into a rack.
7. Working from the front of the rack, set the rear edge of the IRU module on the shelf rails.
Then slide the module into the rack until the module ears are snug against the front rack
rails. See Figure 1-13.
8. Fasten the module to the front rails of the rack with the screws provided. See Figure 1-13.
9. Working from the rear of the rack, align the rear connectors of the fan module with the rear
of the IRU base module and carefully slide it in until it fully connects together.
10. Fasten the fan module to the rear rails of the rack with the screws provided.
