For each authentication method chosen, a tabbed
section appears under the checkbox fields, enabling
you to specify additional authentication properties.
b. In the tabbed fields for each authentication method,
identify whether the method is mandatory. Specify
whether to use the same properties as another
method. Also enter the local and remote identifiers
and the password to use for authentication.
2. In the LCP Negotiation section, select parameters to be
used during Link Control Protocol (LCP) negotiation.
3. In the Idle timeout section, select a parameter that
determines when the link will be disconnected.
To deactivate the idle timeout counter so that only
the remote peer or the network can close the PPP
link, select Inactive.
To close the PPP link and physical connection as
soon as the channel is deactivated, select Used
session.
To close the PPP link and physical connection after
the channel remains deactivated for a specified time,
select Use session + Delay and enter the delay time
in seconds.
NOTE
The multi-link group of properties can be used only with
adapters that have multiple ports. They are unavailable in
the dialog box.
4. Click OK to save the PPP properties and return to the
Channel properties dialog box.
