Install the Router
Because the router weighs between 57 lb (25.8 kg) and about 61 lb (27.6 kg) for the M5 router
or 67 lb (29.
5 kg) for the M10 router, using a mechanical lift to install it is recommended.
If you do n ot use a mechanical lift , installing the chassis safely requires t wo people to lift
and an addit
ional person to insert the mounting screws.

Tools and Parts Required
To install t
he chassis into a rack using a mechanical lift, you need the following tools and
parts:
Mechanical
lift (recommended)
Phillips (+) screwdrivers, numbers 1 and 2
Install the Chassis into the Rack
Using a mechanical lift to maneuver the router into the rack is recommended because of the
router’s size and weight. The lift must be able to accommodate the router’s weight—between
57 lb (25.8
kg) and about 61 lb (27.6 kg) for the M5 router or 67 lb (29.5 kg) for the M10
router depending on configuration—and must fit between the support posts of the rack.
If you are installing multiple routers in one rack, install the lowest one first
and proceed upward in the rack.
