Shuttle viewing/direct shuttle viewing
By turning the shuttle ring during still image playback or
playback/reverse playback, you can change the playback
speed.
Step
1 Turn the shuttle ring during still image playback
(shuttle viewing) or playback/reverse playback
(direct shuttle viewing).

The playback speed varies depending on the turning
angle of the shuttle ring.
When you release the shuttle ring, it returns to the
center position and the recorder starts still image
playback.
Notice
The intended playback speed may not be obtained
when a heavy load is imposed on the recorder or when
the high-speed data transmission is unavailable due to
the use of a DVD/CD , USB memory, or external HDD.
Shuttle hold
Even when you release the shuttle ring during shuttle
viewing, the playback speed is maintained.
Step
1 While turning and holding the shuttle ring at
the angle for the desired playback speed during
shuttle viewing, press the PAUSE button.
Step
2 Release the shuttle ring.
The playback speed is maintained.
When you press the PAUSE button again, the shuttle
hold is canceled and the recorder resumes still
image playback.
High-speed forward/rewind playback
You can play back recorded images at a higher playback
speed than that of shuttle viewing or direct shuttle viewing.
Step
1 Turn the shuttle ring until it stops while the
recorder is stopped.
Turn the shuttle ring clockwise until it stops: The
recorder continues high-speed forward playback.
Turn the shuttle ring counterclockwise until it stops:
The recorder continues high-speed rewind playback.
Press the STOP button: The recorder stops
playback.
Notice
When you change the playback speed while playing
back images recorded at a low recording rate, the
displayed images may be disturbed.
Frame-by-frame playback
Step
1 Turn the jog dial during still image playback.
Turn the jog dial clockwise: Forward frame-by-frame
playback starts.
Turn the jog dial counterclockwise: Reverse frame-
by-frame playback starts.
Keep turning the jog dial clockwise: Continuous
forward frame-by-frame playback starts.
Keep turning the jog dial counterclockwise:
Continuous reverse frame-by-frame playback starts.
Stop turning the jog dial: The recorder resumes still
image playback.
Notice
During frame-by-frame playback in the single
screen display mode, the recorder feeds frames
while searching images from the selected camera.
Therefore, when you turn the jog dial fast, the recorder
may not be able to feed frames accordingly.
Noise may appear in the images during playback
using the jog/shuttle.
When the frame-by-frame playback is performed in the
split screen mode, images may not be refreshed for a
while.
